The procedure for creating your own ‘home-from home’ at The Savoy
A new concept in holiday home investment
Owner's cottages at The Savoy have been developed with quality in mind and easy living by design. The Savoy has been transformed by Nick Stickland, award winning architects and interior designers into a stylish and environmentally friendly village.
You can reserve your choice of cottage and the location simply by paying a deposit of £2,000*.
If you choose to commission a completed cottage you will have up to 28 days in which to exchange contracts. A deposit of 10% will then be payable to secure the plot for your cottage at the current market price.
The expected construction timetable and completion dates will be advised at the time of commission. The full completion costs will be payable on handover of your cottage.
How to commission your new Owner’s Cottage:
- The new exclusive development at The Savoy, Yarmouth offers the opportunity to commission your own holiday home direct from the plans. As a result you can reserve the plot of your choice and enter into a separate building contract to create your Owner’s Cottage.
- When you have decided to proceed we will require a signed sales pro-forma along with a deposit of £2,000*. Payment should be made by cheque or debit card.
- On paying your reservation fee you will be able to secure your property for 28 days from the date of your solicitors having received the contracts.
Note: Deposits are non-refundable. - The Savoy Owner’s Cottages have been individually designed in conjunction with Nick Stickland Architects who, together with Richard Newnham Associates, provide the quality control, design representation and construction services for Planning UK Limited on this project. They have appointed a specialist Isle of Wight contractor to carry out the construction on your behalf.
There will be two contracts involved for the development of your new home:
- The initial contract will be for each individual plot. This contract will be with Planning UK Limited which is the vendor.
- The second contract will be for the construction of your new home, on a self-build basis. This contract will be with Cawthorne Properties Limited.
You have two options for procuring the development of your new home:
- Cawthorne Properties Limited will construct your cottage and final payment on your contract will be due upon the issue of a practical completion certificate
- You can make stage payments against each of the five principle steps in construction. We encourage you to choose this method of procurement and Cawthorne Properties Limited offer a 5% finance discount on the full development cost to customers taking this option.

Owner's Cottages are pleased to be able to offer prospective Savoy cottage purchasers an exclusive ‘Stay and Try’ option. Book a break at The Savoy in the type of cottage that you are considering purchasing and if you proceed The Savoy will reimburse the cost of your holiday in full.
